I've just started collecting vintage Starwars toys after finding a haul in the loft left over from when I was a kid.

Got loads of figures, a complete AT-AT with box and instructions, a couple of complete AT-ST's, one with box and various other bits and bobs.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if replacing the stickers/decals on the vehicles with modern day repro ones will detract from the value much ?

I plan on keeping it all and displaying some of it but the AT-ST's are looking a bit shabby with faded and missing stickers. You can get shiny new sticker sets from an auction site but am unsure wether to replace them of not.

would probably be best keeping them as original as possible. I cant remember the site but I stumbled across an american site which sold complete and incomplete figures e.g blaster missing and the prices were quite reasonable. Without boxes of course.

Original is better. I had to put up with hearing this sort of info all the time from my old science teacher, whose Star Wars collection pretty much fills his house and is worth over £100k!

collect the stuff myself or i used to, collection is all boxed up at the mo in the loft, not really got anywhere to display the pieces i have,

No, I'm not sad.

read: I'm annoyed as I'd be rich now if I'd kept all of the stuff I had back when the film first came out, I really rue setting fire to my 'Falcon with meths! :o

I have a massive, original Millenium Falcon. Bought for £25 about 15 years ago. Wonder how much it's worth. I need to find the bits that have fallen off it, though; like the radar dish and the chess table.

I also have a scout speeder thing from RotJ, you press the button and it blows up, lulz.

I had a white Tie fighter, looked a bit wierd in white and the pilot had an anoying habit of falling out if you flew upside down :D
