are these put to salvage or do they go straight to the crusher?

over a decade ago now, i saw a 1.8t golf that was in a bad way outside a haulage co and enquired about it to which i discovered a young couple had been killed in it and that it was going straight to the crusher (sounds bad i know but i had my eyes on the recaro's that were in it - i was only 20 at the time). i then told a friend about this and he said that he thought cars would still go to salvage or auction even if they had been involved in a fatal accident where another friend said that they were usually always crushed and no salvage made available?

Pretty sure any vehicle that has been in a fatal accident is treated as a category A jobby.
If its similar to to producing steel (ok bad metaphor but its the only knowledge i have similar to this) then no product which has human remains can be sold within the UK. Apparently blood can be classed as human remains under this.

Would the back seats of a car come under that rule?

Can't think why it would be destroyed purely because an occupant was killed really, who needs to find out? I can see that most cars involved in fatal collisions would be badly messed up and go to the crusher anyway though.

My parents bought a car that someone committed suicide in using the old exhaust pipe method? Was the most reliable car they've ever owned

but that doesn't mean the person died, does it?

a couple of surface scratches can be very bloody even though the person might be able to walk out of the car in one piece.

Slightly different but it's well known that the range rover involved in the rettendon murders is still out and about

A friend of mine hit a drunk guy at 50mph almost 10 years ago, and he somewhat died. The car was quite badly damaged (bonnet/windscreen/roof), but it was repaired and sold on soon after the accident. I know it wasn't an occupant that died, but still, I'd not be very happy driving that car around afterwards.
