Never heard of such a thing. But I've only lived here for two years

Anyway you should water your plants in the night if it's really hot as the water will probably just dry up before your plants get to use it if you do it in the day

One of our neighbours did the lawn at an odd time as well, think it was after 10pm in the dark. They also had a bonfire (or bbq, too dark to see) at 2am.... in the rain.

Could have been sleep walking?
I have done some mad stuff when sleep walking, like have a shower and not even wake up, I did not even know till my parents asked me why I had a shower at 1 am.

Some people prefer cutting it that time as it prevents scorching it by the sun I think when it is freshly cut. Not that it makes much difference to be honest but there are some very keen gardeners out there

Some say at night as less water evaporates others say early morning as the plants have more water for the day. Take your pick. I prefer late evening as it's cooler and more convenient.
