When i start the pc up i get the CPU fan error so i press f1 to continue, the fan spins but wont go over 550rpm. In fact it stays at around 540rpm on idle and load, i've tried changing the speed with both asus pc probe and speedfan to no effect.

I wanted to check if it was getting enough power by plugging it straight into the psu but i cant find a 4 pin fan to molex anywhere, do they even exist? :|

specs are:
ASUS P5QPL-AM
Intel Q6600 Kentsfield (no oc)
2GB ram
800W POWERX PSU

apologies for grammer/spelling as im in a bit of a rush, thanks

i doubt it, the fourth pin is the motherboard control pin that controls the rpm, that wouldnt happen if you cennected it straight to the PSU, look for three-pin to molex :)
