So I'm just wondering how much time you give yourself at home, between waking up in the morning, and leaving for work?

For me it's been an hour for the last few months. Up at 6, leave at 7, and arrive 7:20-ish. (to start at 7:30)

But it doesn't feel enough. I mean in order to properly shower etc, plus prepare and eat a proper breakfast, get stuff ready for work, and generally get ready for the day seems like I need at least 1.5-2 hours.

I have a friend who gets up around 8:30 and needs to be at work for 9, and typically stumbles into work around 9:05. He can't possibly have washed/eaten properly. Makes me wonder how on earth he still has his job (which he admits he sucks at).

How about you? How much time do you need between waking up and leaving the house on an average work day?

For school I mastered it (with wet shave) for exactly half an hour. For a few years.

Now, with more advances in shaving technology (..or something) I can't shave every day without breaking out in a horrendous rash.

So taking the shave out of my routine I need an hour now. I still don't know why exactly. Probably **** around the net in the mornings reading blogs and the news etc.

Ah that's it - how could I forget. The morning fap takes at least 20 minutes.

Used to be out the door for school in under 10 minutes. Nowadays...usually takes me about 10-15 minutes to get ready.

It's a skill borne out of love for the snooze button :D

LOL made me laugh.

Normally i plan to give myself 30 mins, but it seems to take me about 45 mins. This is when im at home, as I normally never get round to ironing my shirt the night before so have to do it in the morning.

20mins on a god day, but more like 5-10. Enough time for toilet & teeth and chuck work clothes on.

But then do a reasonably physical, dirty, oily job. So don't bother with the shower in the morning. And sod food at that time in the morning. It's all about a brunch at 10ish.

Is that me? Haha

I hate wasting time in the morning, shower etc the night before, up washed teeth brushed dressed and out the door in 12 mins. Rather be up an extra hour at night than in the morning sitting around eating breakfast and watching guff tv does not interest me.

Its all about the coffee.

6:40 - first alarm
7:00 - second alarm/get out of bed
7:50 - leave for work
7:55 - arrive at work
~9:30 - awake

I have an hour on snooze (i.e. my alarm goes off an hour before I get out of bed). Radio 4 in the background.

I'm out of the house about 20 minutes after getting out of bed. I don't eat breakfast, a cup of tea is plenty at that time of day.

I can be out the door in 15 minutes if I need to be. But usually I take 45 minutes as I like to get my breakfast and get back into bed to eat it. Getting back out of bed after that is hard work!

And you arrive at work wide awake and looking your best?

I find that hard to believe tbh.

Of course I'm awake, I've been listening to the today show for the last hour!

I shower / wash hair / shave / brush teeth in 10 mins. If I don't need the toilet I can get out in 15m.

If I'm cycling to work I wake up at 7:30, leave at 8, arrive about 8:20 and then I will shower followed by some porridge and start work at 9.

If I drive in, I get up at 8, have a shower and leave at 8:30, park up at about 8:50 and have a 10 minute walk in.
