Hehe just got a call from "Microsoft" telling me I had a Trogan.

I had a customer ring me about his pc that was full of viruses, he dropped it off and i ran some scans on it and found nothing. I told him there was nothing wrong with it and he said "well that's strange as we keep getting calls from microsoft telling us we have viruses and that its running slow"

HAHAHAHHAHAH

Heh brilliant! it's just sad to think that some people will get caught by this.

If i ever got one of these i may be tempted to do my awesome George Agdgdgwngo impression at them.

As I said, I would not send out until the money was transferred from my paypal account into my bank account, unfortunately that means you actually have to transfer money into my paypal account, not just pretend you have.

send copy of bank statement

Thats the last I heard from him. Got a hokey fake paypal letter sent.

I wonder if any of these guys have called each other up?

"Hello, I'm from Microsoft. We have discovered there is a trojan on your computer."

"Hello, you have called Microsoft. We have discovered there is a trojan on your computer."

"No, your computer has a trojan."

"No, yours does."

etc.

A deterioration of correct grammar from blue -> red.

It made me chuckle how it starts out so well and then just collapses into utter pigeon English.

I think thats my plan if I get one of these calls. String them along, be clueless and ask when they're getting me to find my IP address, ask them if they can tell me theirs so I know what one 'looks' like.

Then pretend my son/dad has just seen the computer and tell them they have a virus... keep on insisting it till they get the hint :p

Had these call many times, even when you tell them straight to **** off, they will call a few days later, saying you've picked up another.

I usually ask for control of their computer before they ask for mine, then they sit there saying they dont want to risk spreading the virus. lol.

A colleague that recently left the company phone has been ringing lots with 'debt consolidation agencies' recently. I have a good laugh with them, making up massive debts for silly things. Then tell them that they should stop calling this number.

I got one of these calls on Monday, i do get them now and again, getting incresingly frustrated with them.

Now i tend to just shout abuse down the phone in hope that they will just get fed-up and stop calling me.

I'd like to set up a virtual machine for them to connect to and then when they try and do anything just keep hitting ALT + F4 just for a fun
