Hi,

After having the Mx5 for nearly 3 years I have decided it was time for a swap. I was after a little more space, but also more power etc of course! The Mx5 went today, will miss it, but I am glad to hear the new owner is taking it to the ring in 2 weeks time so it is going to be used properly.

So I got myself a 1999 Honda Integra Type R. I had test driven other hot hatches and I found them to be a little too refined, or dare I say boring to me. :p It's a UK car with aircon and the cat 1 alarm option, though the immobiliser had gone funny so the previous owner had been very good and got a Toad cat 1 alarm all installed.

Can't wait for midnight as that is when my insurance starts for the DC2, though loved driving it for the 24 hours it was insured for to take it home! Been impressed by the lack of any understeer even with it being a fwd car. Obviously more investigating is required. ;) The engine I must say is very good in the fact that you can happily cruise round at low revs and it feels like a normal engine, but when you want to get moving the engine picks up so much life when the high lift cams are used. I know the revs arn't for everyone but I am coming from the MX5, which is very short geared too so it seems more refined when cruising along the motorway. The seats in it hold me really well, though I haven't driven it since fitting my CG Lock, which made a massive improvement in the MX5.

Nice :) How much did it set you back?

I gave the last person who bought a UKDM on here some abuse so you'll have to get some too. Shame it's not the JDM :( ;p

Love it!

(damn you dreadi, stealing my phrase :p)

Looks to be in great condition. Championship white isn't it?

Aye championship white, a nicely slightly off white colour. My brother thought the white had aged until I explained it to him. :p

Oh yes I forgot to say, the rear arches have been fully repaired a few months ago. ;)

sigma, I do like the JDM one but my insurance company doesn't! The UK one came out at £660 for insurance whereas the lowest I could get the JDM one was £1100! The car was £4200. :)

Edit - Oh yes it is stock except for uprated front pads, and I have removed the resonator on the air intake. Just need to sort out a cold air feed for the airbox now.

Pics have been known to lie but that does seem very clean for a UK DC2. Someone has removed the arch protectors and on the arch lip shot you cant see any corrosion at all, have you had the skirts off?

Arches were fully repaired a few months back, hense why they look so good. :)

Nice

All you need is some new red H badges

Shame they're ~£80 for the pair

Simauto will sort you out

If the engine mounts haven't been done recently, buy the 3 pack from Tegiwa

Glad you decided to go for it mate, really nice cars - I'll keep an eye out for it in the car park :D
