I am looking for a budget graphics card.

I have a Gigabyte M68MT-S2 Motherboard and a Coolermaster 430 elite case , So it should fit in my case.

I only need it for my brother so he can play Flight Simulator X so i doubt if i need a top of the range one.

Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks !

The 5770 is still better than the 6670 and the £100 5830 probably isn't worth the extra. I don't know where Nvidia comes though.

I'm probably one of the more radeon-oriented people here, but for flight Sim X, you might be wise to consider a geforce. There can be in excess of a 100% bias towards geforce in the title, to the extent that a GTX260 (192-core) outperforms an HD5870. Not sure if that's changed in recent times or not. For general gaming I usually recommend radeons, but for FSX, they don't make a lot of sense.

Sounds like a good idea to do some research on the graphical performance of various budget cards with that particular game.

I have a 500w coolermaster PSU

That's fine for any single PCI powered graphics card (most sub £100 cards, like the HD 5770).

If you can scrounge up another £20 then you could get the gts450.

stoner81.

lol, for just 10 quids more he is able to buy gtx 460 (clearance lines, waiting for an occassion - it shows up and disappears).
for fsx purposes good cpu is more important than gpu:

So it's better idea to have a quad-core (or 6-core) CPU + nice o/c. GeForce is better indeed, but there's no big difference between 8800 GT and GTX 280 (!):

Maybe something changed since this tests :)

Green is Nvidia :D

Yeah, but I mostly don't like tomshardware, since IIRC they're basically an nvidia subsidiary. Pretty sure I've seen similar results from other sites hence why I stated it, but for graphics benches, I don't go near THG.
