My Freezer Pro Rev 2 isn't up to the task of keeping my i2500K at 4.5g at a reasonable temp, 74 after 25 mins Prime 95, so I'm after one that will reduce these temps by 10deg or so.

I did get my hands on a second hand Titan Fenrir, but the bracket hits the SFC "military class" box, so I want to make sure that the new hsf fit's ok and isn't bigger than 163mm, which is the limit for my Elite 430.

Cheers.

with my noctua d-14 and my 2500K at 4.5GHz, it was topping out at 60 degrees on one of the cores after 6 hours of prime95 :)

Gelid Tranquillo cooler here - 65 to 73 degrees across the 4 cores on my i5 whilst running Intel Burntest as max stress settings!

It does overhang one of the RAM sticks a little but the fan can be adjusted up without any problems to accomodate - although any fancy "tall" RAM (G.Skill or Corsair Vengeance for example) - MIGHT struggle!

Hope this helps.....

I am tempted by the Noctua, now that I know it fits.

The H50 also looks good at £40 though.

Cheers for the help.:)

My i5 is running at 4.5GHz on an MSI P67A-G45, with core temps between 59 and 63 degrees under load (Intel burntest or prime95), using a CoolIT ECO. Build and screenies of the clock are clock are here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18277732. A very nice option if space is tight as well, made the whole job a lot easier than with a tuniq tower!

For the £4 saving though an H50 has got to be worth a go, from the specs I would imagine they're fairly similar. Would certainly seem to hit the mark for your required 10 degree drop.

Hope that's of some use to you.

Very tempting that one mate and I've also heard good things about the Be Quiet Advanced, tricky decision this.

I use a A50 on my i5, msi board too.. Load temps using prime torture test at 4,2ghz yet to exceed 54 on all cores .. Idles in the 20's.. Tempted by the h50 offer but don't really need it with temps so low already :-/

I got the Bequiet advance, great cooler, give similar performance to the Frio and noctua d-14 on review sites, have been testing on 4.5 and lowering vcore, currently getting hightest temps of 62C after 2 hours of primer 95, best benefit is so quiet, you can only hear a little at 100 percent fn speed, if you lower cpu fan speed to 50 - 75 percent can't hear it at all

I decided to go for the H50, but now my goddam Elite 430 is too small for the rad, so I can't get the bottom to fit, as the mobo gets in the way and the top is too big for the side door.

I think it's time to settle with the Freezer Pro 2 for the time being and temps in the early 70's under Prime, as I'm fed up with these fit issues now.

look at my Sig :D prime 95 i top out at 62 but usually 60 idle is 37

Edit: just read your last post, how about getting the Drill out and drilling new mounting points in the back for the H50 ? its not hard work like a knife through butter

Just finished my build 2 hours ago and using a 2500K, the H50, and a MSI GD55 and an antec 100 case - which fits the rad nicely in the rear exhaust fan slot. Running Orthos stressing all four cores at 4.5Ghz - so far top temp is 57C running the CPU stress test (37mins so far). The antec 100 is only 40odd quid so pleased with it so far...
I would recommend this case if you want to replace yours with a budget one that fits the H50

The problem is the bottom of the rad is too low and hits the LAN port on the mobo and the top too high for the side of the case, so no room for manoeuvre.

Looks like an air cooler that fits the mobo and no bigger than 160mm, or turn the overclock down to get some better temps.

I've only just got the case, so don't really want to get another.

I must admit, I never had these cooler problems with old mobo's and my old Coolermaster CM201.

Put the rad on it's side and installed the cooler and now get load temps using IntelBurnTest at 54 max, as opposed to 74 max using the AC Freezer Pro, so very happy so far.:)
