Has anyone been watching this or seen it when it originally aired. I feel actually disgusted looking at the people at times, the way they talk (anyone not from glasgow or surrounding areas WILL need subtitles), the way they treat their families and friends. the show does have its comedy moments though at 1 point a mother comes out of court crying after her sons hearing and says "they said he called him all the bin laden ******** under the sun", now that was comedy gold, they seem to have no respect for anything or anyone, she also went to court in her mobility car (there is no-one disabled in her house and parked in a disabled bay). the smartest person on the show believe it or not is a 5 year old girl, its as if people development goes backwards in this scheme. beware their is lots of swearing in the show, these types of people cannot go 5 seconds without swearing.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00sj713/The_Scheme_Episode_1/

1 young adult throws a bottle of buckfast through his girlfriends mum's back window of her car and kicks off her wing mirror after she refused to open the door to him when he arrived at the house at 2am and everyone was sleeping. he also decides to become a drug dealer at 1 point and instead of selling the "charlie" snorts all of it in 1 night (£400 worth) and gets threats of being slashed and resorts to hiding until his dad can pay off the debt. he also starts moving onto other drugs and actully thinks he is cool. his older brother is is prison for going into the local post office drunk and racially abusing staff callin them

another guy takes 30 "blues" in 2 go's (15 each) and injects heroin, etc. spends every penny he gets from the "giro" as soon as he gets it on heroin and then probably steals for his regular fix (his house has like a 14 inch portable tv as their main tv and there are 3 adults living there and a kid and i dont think any of them work, in fact most on the show dont have a job).

another knee's his pregnant gf (who is on methadone due to her heroin problem and has a tag) in the stomach after taking drugs and smacks her about, he also gets lifted for having hundreds of pills on him.

this show shows exactly what is wrong with the benefit system and our system as a whole, politicians must know what is going on, yet they would rather claim expenses and live in a bubble. these people are breeding more and more people who do the exact same as them.

although this is probably at the extreme end of the scale and they dont show the good parts, that is the whole point, to show the extreme end of the scale and how bad it really is.

if their was a rating system for scum from different parts of the world, i reckon scotland's would be easily in the top 10.

in before people defending scotland and saying it really isnt that bad ;) (as i said this is the extreme end of the scale, but there are hundreds of thousands of people in scotland like this)

I trust that this is partially in jest? You should not take what is a very small part of perceived Scottish life and assume that is the de facto standard.

I do get embarrassed when watching programme such as this but it is most certainly not confined to Scotland.

watch the show guys, its like taking the people from jeremy kyle show and showing an insight into their real lives.

comedy gold and drama, and horror rolled into one.

apparently property prices in the area have plummeted after this show was aired. hardly surprising.

I was born in Kilmarnock and lived on that estate for 3 years . its not as bad as the tv program makes out . But go to any rough estate in england/scotland or wales and you will see the same thing .

as said before, it shows the extreme end of the scale mainly. it did show that guy who was runner up in best garden competition. he seemed to be really nice. the complete opposite of most on the show.

Isn't this series yonks old? Swear it was on last year..

there is now an update to the show being released as the 5th episode, original had 4 episodes. so they re-released the 4 and now the new one as the 5th. they didnt want to just do an update episode without showing the ones before it.

i didnt catch it last time around.

Ah ye I remember now, they stopped the 5th one because of some legal thing?

Was due to air yonks ago wasn't it but one of the many plebs on the show had a court case come up which put the show on hold.

I wish MTV would pick this up so that we have our own version of Jersey/Geordie Shore :p

As much as you're right. These junkies would rob even more houses to feed their addiction, I would rather pay taxes then have them possibly ruining and scarring more innocent people's lives then they already do.

I would usually revel in watching things like this but I don't particularly feel like being depressed at some of the human race tonight :(

Saying that, generally housing estates w/flats anywhere in the British Isles are bad full stop. Some are worse, some aren't.

if it increases robberies, then that should hopefully make an increase in arrests, which would put more of these people inside and for longer, with increase in number of charges against them. i would rather pay taxes for these people to be in prison than to pay taxes for them to do whatever they want.

the government needs to look at a case by case basis, the people have to pass a drugs test, have no criminal record, etc. have a scale and a system in place. the worse you are, the less you get. the worser you are the worse an area you get housed in. therefore people who are genuinely caught up in the system dont get housed in the same area as these animals and all the animals are lumped together.

So what your after is a social zoo of sorts?

if you can come up with a better plan of action, i would love to hear it. the current system, clearly isnt working.

if there was incentive not to have a criminal record and an incentive not to do drugs, would that be a bad thing?
