I'm looking for a DynDNS-like service that will allow me to point the domain to a CNAME rather than an IP as I'd like to point my dynamic broadband hostname there.

Is there anything like this out there?

Thanks

I found this on DynDNS http://www.dyndns.com/support/kb/record_types.html#cnameanchor I don't know much about CNAME.. sorry.

I think that's just so you can have www. CNAMEs rather than using your actual broadband domain name?

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to do that? :)

Main reason: MySQL allows connections based on domain name rather than IP.

I've got home.mydomain.com > me.homeserver.com > my IP
Think that is what your after.

I've got that setup with mine at the moment, however unfortunately it's not what I'm after.

I need a service that will look up my current broadband domain name, and then assign that as a CNAME to a domain.

Thanks for the suggestions/comments/links so far though :)
