Hello,

Sorry got another question. I did an online qoute with Elephant and it is significantly cheaper then the qoute they give on the phone. So just wondering can I buy that online qoute over the phone at the same time or will the re-enter everything and the price will be more expensive as a result?

What I'm planning to do is go and see a car and if I like it I will phone up Elephant and qoute the online ref and buy over the phone and then drive home insured. But worried they might give a different price!

Cheers y'all

Shouldnt be a problem, but sometimes they say that the online quote offers a discount because you are buying it online, but Im pretty sure the salespeople are quite accomodating and will more than likely offer you the same price.
Or if you do an online HPI check you get 7 days free insurance.

Admiral were buggers with this, couldn't get my online quote no where near as good on the phone, it was however still miles below my previous insurance policy though so still win.

Phone them up, give them quote reference number, job done.

This. I am with Bell who are the same company as Elephant / Bell. My renewal quote from bell was over £400 more expensive than their online quote, I rang them up and gave them their quote reference and instnatly got the price matched.

Being a bit cheaky I then explained that I knew Elephant were the same company as them and there online quote was another £20 cheaper, I gave them that reference number and they then matched that as well.

What do you mean? I did my online quote on money supermarket, got a reference number, called them and gave them the reference and got the price online. Easy.

For comparison, i did an online quote with Direct Line and it came back £1k more than Admiral.

The only thing I didn't like was towards the end when he tried to sell me extras and was quite pushy when it comes to Personal Injury insurance in case i was hit by an uninsured driver. I mentioned the MIB but he just skimmed over that and pushed it some more. Only let it go when i said "I respectfully decline".
