Hi, I just wanted to ask about warranties when selling in the members market. I am considering selling my ASUS Rampage III Extreme and of course it is only about 1 years old. As far as I am aware all ASUS MBs come with a 3 year warranty?

So, if I decide to sell my MB, can I sell it with the warranty? Or will they not be able to redeem it? Baring in mind the warranty with the retailer has expired so it will only be with ASUS directly.

Would I need to give them my invoice or will ASUS exchange it regardless because they know it’s no older than a year?

Thank you.

I can't specifically answer this, you'd have to check it directly with ASUS, however have a read of the section in the rules regarding warranties as we expect members to help out buyers should there be a problem in the future.

I think if it immediately is broken then that will be something to bring up with the buyer.

Otherwise where there's warranty with the manufacturer I always state this. Even eBay with all my second hand listings hasn't had a problem.

As with Asus they will probably just replace it or fix it regardless knowing its age. It's probably more hassle for them to find out, and then be bothered about it being second hand. ;)

It's usually courtesy to offer help if required in future with RMA/warranty issues as the warranty applies to you as the original buyer.

I guess I could sell it with the warranty and offer to perform the exchange with ASUS as long as they are prepared to pay for the shipping.

Surely this depends on the wording of the warranty, you wouldnt expect a seller to help the buyer break the terms of the warranty?

Without a doubt, it can be a bit of a grey area.

This is the stance I'd take selling on here. Most of the stuff I've sold is ancient though
