Tri SLI uneven GPU usage.

Hello

I have a very annoying problem with my GTX570's (Tri SLI).

I'll be playing, the GPU usage will be even across all GPU's and then randomly the usage will be completely uneven, say for example GPU 1 at 80%, GPU 2 at 12% and GPU 3 at 58%...This makes the game completely unplayable, feels like 10FPS

This happens randomly, so could be fine for 20 minutes then GPU usage will go crazy and it'll be choppy for usually about 5 minutes then return to normal.

has happened on every game I've played and any benchmark aswell. Tried various different drivers, now using the latest beta's.

Any idea's ?

Take one the cards out and see if SLI works fine..

Have you checked that none the cards or your CPU is overheating ??

SLI works fine (as in only 2 cards)

GPU's hit the mid 40's under load and CPU hits about 65C (ish)

Anything running in the background like anti-virus that could be causing it?

@Rroff: I have anti-virus running, but its never scanning when im gaming.

@Surveyor: Could be a dodgy SLI bridge, unfortunately I don't have another to try.

Do you guys reckon its anything to do with my monitors being connected to GPU2 rather than GPU1?

Your monitors should be connected to the same GPU but according to this it can be any GPU:

SLI Multi-Monitor

With 3 monitors you connect one to each GPU:

3D Vision Surround

I doubt it will make any difference but try re-seating the bridge.

While you're doing that turn the bridge the other way around and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately it didn't work. Still got the same issue.

Try running with just 1 monitor connected and see how the cards are loaded then.

I've decided to give my bro one of the cards, solves a problem for me and he's struggling along with a 512MB HD4870 at 1920 x 1200.

Its probably a driver problem as tri-sli crossfire is never supported as well as dual cards. What psu were you running these cards on?

Your brother is gonna be a happy man.

Tried a NZXT Hale 90 1000W and OCZ ZX 1250W same story with either.

He'll love it im sure
