Hay all I am after some new headphones and I have seen some that I like look of but I am not 100% sure if there any good.

I will be using them for gaming more then music if that helps :)

Specs are.

Connector Type 3.5mm
Cable Length (m) 1.2
Cable Type Corded, Single sided
Impedance (ohm) 32
Frequency Response (Hz) 18-20000
Max. Input Power (mW) 100
Form Circumaural
Ear Cup Closed back
Driver Type Dynamic
Driver Diameter (mm) 50

Or should I just get the Sennheiser HD 205-II or the Sennheiser HD 418?

Thanks for any advice :)

Skullcandy are usually £20 headphones sold for £100. It's all a marketing thing. The folks here will help you pick the best for your budget, but it won't be Skullcandy. :)

Cheers :)

I was thinking do they look better then they sound lol.

But I wanted to get some advice just incase they are good.

So i am down to 2 options for my price range of £36.

HD 205 or the HD 418.

Both seem good it's a hard choice.

Thanks.

unless you get skullcandy for very cheap, it isnt worth it - i am happy with my set of titan in ear headphones becuase i only paid £12.99 with shipping! :p :D

The skull ones where about £36 so not very cheap lol.
I do like the look of the Creative Fatal1ty HS-800 :D

Makes my choice harder now lol.

But with the added mic i can get rid of my destop mic.

Thanks.

Goldring DR50 if you can find them, don't go for a 'gaming' headset.

Gaming basically means worse than a pair of proper headphones, apparently adding a microphone means they have to reduce audio quality too. :o

lol well the skullcandys are off the list for sure :)

The ones i really like atm are the GOLDRING DR100, HD205 and HD418.

Keep reading same thing about the goldrings "shrillness "

Could you stretch to £48? The Creative Aurvana Live are a very very good gaming/music headphone, and are a bargain at that price. Have a read over on head-fi a lot of people like them over there and they are pretty much the 'experts' in that field!

I would love to but £30 was my limit to start with and going over that already lol.

Leaning more towards the goldring dr100.

I hate buying sound equipment lol i had the same trouble buying my 2.1 setup:(

It took me ages to pick what to get.

Had to up my budget to £50ish to make my choice easy :)

Going to get Goldring NS1000 as they on sale atm :)

Not really sure what the batteries are for?

I will be connecting the headphones to my X-Fi XtremeGamer sound card.

Thanks all.

Yeah i was thinking that as it will work out cheaper in the long run :D

Is worth buying a amp still ? As i only have a X-Fi XtremeGamer.

Sorry one more question :)

I keep reading about CMSS-3D and it's a good thing to use but after playing BF2 a few months back with CMSS-3D the sound sounded degraded?

Maybe my options where setup wrong and not sure what MacroFX or Elevation filter really does.

Still waiting for the ns1000 to be posted to me :D

Thanks.

I actually have the hesh headphones and for music they're excellent. I was really impressed with the sound quality, admittedly the plastic is a bit flimsy but I've chucked them around a bit and they've coped, not used them for gaming yet though.
