i had an encounter with a very quick x6 earlier (wasnt an M though) but it sailed past 130 and appeared to keep going.

ive put the reg into eurocarparts and all it says is 3.0, no idea if its diesel or not

not only was it amazing to see such performance from a car to big but regardless of fuel, amazing that it was such a small engine.

when i spec up a petrol 3.0 i can only pick upto 2009 and his reg is 2010 and has different oil filters so i can only assume it was a diesel too

all i can think is they make huge horses in whatever factory it came from

ive just been on youtube, they are absurd regardless of being diesel or petrol

the run started as a slip road straightened, 80mph in 4th, i only realised there was bait to be taken when the massive thing shot past me on this long tight slip road.

we got to the autobahn and i was already at the top of 4th (really silly speeds already), he was waving as i passed him, i carried on going in 5th, i saw 5.6krpm and wasnt leaving him and shortly after realised how stupid it was and backed out, he just carried on soaring past accelerating away.

if the run wasnt uphill then i think it would have been a very different story

look how it does compared to an a5 2.0 tfsi

at the time i was in the mk4 1.8t

slow cars playing race cars... not trolling, but it's no rocket ship by a long long LONG way. The whole thing seems a bit pointless

it's never gonna be a epic show down, more a epic slow down ;)

It'd just be an XDrive40d.

Its quick for what it is but with 0-60 in 6.5 its not a supercar. Mind you you dont need a huge amount of power to make a Golf look slow :p

Indeed, I’ve noticed over the years that it takes an appreciable difference in power between cars to really leave something for dead.

And how much of a difference them or you being on the power faster makes. A good second reaction time if they boot it + the time you have not noticed they are already flooring it is just as important as the power difference in the first place.

IE - Road Racing is hardly a good level playing field in the best of times :p
