Dirt 3 now on Steam

Wait till you meet the mainly german idiots online using trainers to bunny hop all over the place & cause 1st lap mayhem The number of tracks is a joke as they took monaco straight out of F1 2010 & the Kenya track is in Dirt2 for sure so they are giving us is at best 2 semi new locations it may have 32 tracks but its the same 4 recycled in different configurations.

This game is nothing more than a Dirt2 add-on AFAIC & being forced to run Steam everytime before the game will even launch is another downside as last night Steam had trouble with overload on the Dirt3 servers so took a longtime to even get into the game......It takes around 35 hours online only MP play to reach the highest level35 to unlock all cars/liveries as well so its going to take a while........

Codemasters are subtle as rather than waste much time on DLC for their games they just build a 10% new content game call it Dirt4 & sell it as a totally new game instead

not really clued up on racing games, infact the the last one i really enjoyed was outrun in the arcade (some would say wasted youth). But a couple of questions, is the multiplayer any good, can you get 4 or 5 friends in a game and race away ?

Had a couple of hours tonight since i downloaded fro msteam, and can ascribe to what your saying RE: Add-on. Its like an "expansion pack for Dirt 2 i'd say. Good GFX, but more or less same as dirt 2 from what i've seen.

That said the buggy cars in the snow look good though (All maxed at 2560x1440)

Game still locks solid for me under dx11 but is ok in dx9.

Just won the super series and got to see the credits 150 races 124 wins.

The game was just featured on BBC's click. The presenter got to drive around the Battersea compound with Ken Block, looks just like the place in the game, I assumed it was completely made up.

Bought it this afternoon. I've done most of Season 1 with little worry of not getting 1st place and as far as I can work out I have the difficulty on it's highest setting, all driving aids off. I hope it gets a bit more difficult as you go along.

The location and track count is disappointing as well.

there are mods out for this already and tweaks custom car skins

to say how long it has been out it is very fast work from them.

You're obviously not doing it right. Pulling off an epic drift is a lot of fun.

Admittedly with trick assists this mode is a bit of a mockery, but a lot of people seem to struggle with it even still. The key is to not crash, get the 3x multiplier as soon as possible.

Spent a few hours playing this today and its been pretty damn fun. Looks great, runs as well as Dirt 2 framerate wise and though Ive seen a lot of moaning about the noew modes on the official boards Ive enjoyed the variety as well.

Had even more fun playing online, doing some gymkhana, some cat and mouse and a bunch of rally sessions. Very pleased with it all things considered .

is anyone else getting a slight stutter in the game? It only happens now and again in ceratin races. FRAPS shows 60FPS and the best way to explain the stutter would be like playing online with a really high ping where the game would be choppy ...

I have had it a couple of times. I thought it was the overclock I did on my graphics card.
Hope they get a patch out soon there seems to be quite a few bugs with the game especially people with multi GPU setups.


Oh and Im not a fan of gymkhana. It just not my thing. I enjoyed the drift sections in GRID but the drifting in this game feels off to me
Another thing I miss some of the tracks from Dirt 2 like china and Utah

It not the replay bug? It's recording data for the replay and slows the game down or something, It's mentioned in this thread some where.

I am a little worried that I won't see it in all of its Glory due to m gfx card not being DX11 (4870x2)
Should I consider a PS3 or Xbox format instead?
