Hi guy's and girl's,

Need some help and advice please,

On firday just gone our new female cat aged 11months what we had for a week got out and has not come back yet, She's never been out before
even with her last owners she always been an indoor cat, she was never chipped/tagged as she is booked in this tueday to have it done.
As far as i know she was not going or in a season. I have left her littler box outside since yes2day and been leaving some food out for her
can callling her and going round some of the neighbours and been asking.

I know the truth she is not going to come back and she is lost but we got for out little girl and she is really upset about it,
So guy's and girl's any ideas if this has happen to you and what you did and how you got you cat back?.

Also to note to this, We already have a male cat in the house as well, they were getting on fine from the start so i don't
think that is the problem, I have sent him at night and during the day to see if he could bring her back (lol)

I know going to have some joke's on this thread but i know thats the community of the fourm ;).

Thanks

Maybe put up some posters around the local community? Sounds like she is lost having only been with you a week.

The cat I owned around 10 years ago never came home. My only conclusion was that it possibly got run over.

Hope you find her.

With it being a new cat - could easily be lost, or locked in someone's house, etc.

I'd let the RSPCA know, so if it turns up there they know it's yours.

I'd put some posters up, and through doors, of everyone in the area the cat might go.

It happened to me, and eventually the cat came back by itself. It had gotten injured, and their natural instinct is to hide. There it stayed until it had the energy to come home.

Certainly put some posters up and ask close neighbours to check their gardens. I’d certainly walk up the road looking in gardens and alleys, call out her name if she has one. There is nothing more you can do. Fingers crossed that she comes back home.

Was she collared?

Defo do the posters. We know of at least one couple who lost their cat, put up posters, and turned out some women down the street had thought the cat a stray and taken it in.

There is, unfortunately, a strong possibility of injury, particularly on roads. Cats are territorial and happiest around the familier, and because she is new to the area, it is likely she would have bolted at the slightest spook, including running over roads and in front of cars etc.

But its also possible she has been taken in, or shut in a shed, or stuck up a tree etc etc. Go tour your local area. Imagine your a scared cat, where would you go?

Posters with pics all on your road and next two roads, put like a reward with it too say £10.

11 months and never been out wow thats just mad/cruel. We got our kittens last may we used to let them go out all day only sleeping inside at night time. Now one of thems gave birth and we do the same with these kittens. There natural habitat is outside, let this be a lesson to you.

if shes not been done and does come back, good chance you could have kits on the way :P

tried all the food rattling out side the door kind of thing that they are used to for food time ?

Read the OP... He's had the cat a week and it's never been outside. It doesn't know when it's supposed to come back. Hell, it probably doesn't even know it's supposed to come back at all.

I'm really sorry to hear about this, but I certainly wouldn't give up yet. We had a cat return after over a week. Admittedly it was an older cat that had been out and about for ages. We put out posters then and I agree with doing that, and I would certainly walk around the area calling out (even if it makes you feel an idiot). In the end our cat came back on his own. He was very hungry, but he was fine.

My experience is that young cats that have just been out don't go too far, but that assumes they don't get scared. If they are scared they could be hiding and that includes hiding in sheds. So it is worth asking the neighbours if they could check in their sheds. Also consider whatever or whoever is at the end of your garden.

It would be worth contacting the Cat Protection League, RSPCA, local vets and, if you have one, Pets at Home. You should be able to put notices in the vets and Pets at Home.

It is also worth checking under cars in your area, but be prepared for something you don't want to see.

I really hope you find her.

The cat should survive well outside, there natural instict to get food will take over.

The cat wont die of hunger etc, worst case a car make have hit it.

However most cats live for years in the wild etc, she most likely wont have found her way back due to not having enough time to have learn her "home"

Also, someone else could have taken it in like what happened to our household this weekend, except there's no collar and the JSPCA isn't open until, well... now.

Better keeping it safe and handing it over to them asap, just hope someone has been as kind.

I have been through the same thing a couple of times over the years, hopefully the cat will come back OP. I would try the R.S.P.C.A. and places like the cats protection league and so on, and put plenty of posters up. Also around here the council keep a record of all pets found by the side of the road

Sorry but you only have yourself to blame for letting it "escape" after only having it a week.

Also reading that entire sentence made me cringe, your 24 for crying out loud, if you can't even be bothered to type yesterday correctly you shouldn't be taking care of animals.

Thats good for but there is no lesson for me as i go the cat from someone who kept it indoors for 11months!, she was going to vets on tuesday to getted chipped so she can go and if she did get lost i know she would be chipped so if found she would be brought home..
