Hi

I've been having a few issues with the OS freezing/stalling for around 1 min lately and I would like to try changing the Sata controller drivers to see if this helps.

What would be the safest way to Uninstall the Marvell 9128 6gb Sata Controller drivers? Is it best to use the Device Manager or uninstall the drivers using the control panel Uninstall software utility with a reboot after?

I don't want to mess up the Clean install of Windows 7x64 on a new Vertex 3.

Why don't you just disable the controller in the bios and go from there?

This, driver issues shouldn't occur if the device isn't 'on'. If you just uninstall the drivers you may actually cause more issues in windows as it tries to install or use generic drivers to operate the controller.

If you really think it is the marvel controller then disable it in the BIOS and then uninstall the drivers from windows.
