amd phenom x4 965 BE 125watt edition

Damn! How are you guys getting 4GHz+? My 955 wont go past 3.80 on 1.50+ volts.
Sitting idle at 3755@ 1.4875v with H50 push/pull.... temp 29.

What am i doing wrong?!

I seem to have a stable 4.2ghz @ x 21.0 multiplier

Tried upping the voltage but get BSOD upon loading desktop when i go 4.3ghz or higher.. Think ill just stick with this as im getting amazing load temps! :)

I think the motherboard could be holding me back from OC'ing higher.

If it's a decent chip I would assumed it would easily reach 4.5 as i'm running a 955 at 4.3, had it running at 4.5 but temperatures were too high for my liking.

I run my overclock at 1.45, try that and see if it helps.

You must have a serious combination of a great chip and great cooling.

These chips struggle to get past 4.2 and that's with serious air.

My 965 is at 3.8. I have an aftermarket artic 7 pro and could push it further but don't like it going over 50 degrees.

Mine is 43C under load, 4.2ghz with corsair a70.. temps aren't the problem.. the BSOD's are lol

Could just be your mobo. You should be getting 4.0Ghz easily with these chips, my old 945 did 3.80Ghz on air and the multiplier on that was locked.

and the 955 on 4.5Ghz but temps were too high under load.

Now on 4.3Ghz :)

Really?? Max I can keep my 965 stable at is 3.9ghz. When trying 200x20 @ 1.5v it will be alright for about 30 mins in IntelBurnTest before BSOD'ing. Temps don't go above 50'c under maximum load.

Using a Cooler Master V6GT in a Corsair Obsidian 650D, so cooling doesn't seem to be an issue. I am running RAM at 1600MHz and HT and NB at 2400Mhz (200x8 & 200x12 respectively) - they're on independent multipliers, but is it possible that any of these are hampering stability? Their voltages have been upped accordingly and they all appear stable in long-term stress testing.

The only thing i've done is upped the voltage on the CPU and the NB and just increased the multiplier on the CPU and that's it. Did it on my old chip and now this one, seems to work for me.
