I love these unexpected bank holidays..

Well, seeing as it effectively bans every Foreign National from buying alcohol and cigarettes you could argue the point, but Morrisons is saying the staff isn't trained in identifying foreign passports. I do intend to take this further once I get the written response from Morrisons and it does not state that they will change this discriminatory rule immediately. We, as EU citizens, all have the same rights and my passport is a valid form of ID to the UK government. Can you imagine the riots that would occur if Spanish supermarkets suddenly decided to only allow sale of alcohol to people holding a Spanish Passport/Spanish Driving license?

We've had some people kicking off in our store (rightfully so) and nothing we can do about it! The worst bit is most of them won't even take the number for head office to complain! :(

Best bit though was the manager agreeing with a couple of guys (Canadian passports) telling them how absurd it was that he could legally hire them and have them working for him within the week but couldn't sell them booze/fags/dvd's/games!

Forgot there was one today and booked Friday 27th off before over-hearing someone elses conversation the day after about the 30th being a Bank Holiday. Four day weekend, don't mind if I do :p
 
I ended up flying to the Maldives on my bank holiday (i.e. today) YAY! :D

Shame it was for work and not pleasure. BOO! :(
