I went out for my first "proper" ride on the Enduro yesterday, I'm extremely chuffed with the bike, it's everything I was hoping for! Even the brakes sorted themselves out after 20mins of riding - I was a little worried they were going to be crap and on first impressions I wasn't impressed, very happy they bedded in well.

Anyway, the main reason for posting was to report back on the difference between the Nobby Nic ORC and Nobby Nic Evo PaceStar's. I was happy with the ORC's on my Pitch apart from they were a little sketchy in the wet, while the difference isn't night and day between the two compounds there is definitely a lot more grip cornering with the Evo's and the wet performance seemed better, although it wasn't raining yesterday, just a few boggy sections. I wouldn't say they are worth double the price, but if you can afford it (or can save up a little longer) then I'd definitely go with the Evo's as there is a noticeable difference.

Aye, I've got a Reverb on order with my LBS - should have been in on Friday, hopefully it turns up before Glentress!

I didnt realise the Comp didnt come with a dropper. Thought all the Enduro's did but it just seems to be the Evo and up.

What's a good fork upgrade for a Spesh Rockhopper SL 2010 with Dart 3's at present?

Not a majorly serious rider but would like some better forks.

Did 9 miles locally instead of going to Lee Quarry, foolishly thought it would be drier thisafternoon. Ended up caked head to toe in mud and leaf material.

I quite fancy a QR seatpost, in yellow perhaps to match the bike.

Can't help but feel that the prices are a little OTT though!

Did you go for the large frame in the end kona?

Are they Lyrik solo airs on the comp?

Yes and yes :)

The large enduro feels smaller than a large pitch so I'm quite pleased with that and the Lyrik solo airs are lovely and plush coming from Pikes

Added a few red bits to mine over the weekend:D Ditched the green grips.Hope floaters seem to work ok with the maguras.

Only thing im thinking of changing now is the command post to a revurb with the revurb having zero setback.

Ive also ditched the rear evo nobby as the sidewall just seemed too thin and afraid of using it.Ive gone back to the WTB weirwolf tubeless which i previously had on the front and it seems to work well.

Got another ****ing pinch-flat today!

Riding into work, I was about 15 minutes walk up the road and jumped up a curb non-aggressively and straight away thought something was wrong. Hand over the back tyre and I could feel air coming out. Fantastic. That makes five now. Wheeled the bike home and was late for work. :(

Right, ordering those tyres and some conti tubes as we speak. Going to try 55-60 PSI when they arrive.

Is there any way I can improve lifting the back wheel over obstacles as I'm wondering if the frame-style is working against me? Any more flats and I think I'll scream.

Also, do thin tyres contribute to pinch-flats?

EDIT:

What about 'damaged' rims in terms of spoke tuning?
