I'd imagine it's an issue with the game's crossfire support rather than a problem with your rig. Is it actually giving you any framerate problems?

Not all games use 3 GPUs - Dirt 3 for example crashes with 3 GPUs. I can understand why the support isn't there, just too few people have these setups. AMD and the game developers just need to make it more clear when they don't support this setup.

The game has not been out long enough to say that it wont support more in the future & for you to come to that conclusion & I'm talking about Dirt 3.

Solution given above. Use it or lose it... lol

Yep, welcome to PC gaming. Too many setups to consider all. Use user developed tools like RadeonPro

I came to no final conclusion. All I said is that it currently crashes with the setup. So no idea where you read that.

Of course, if you have followed F1 2010 and Codemasters, I certainly wouldn't expect support for it any time soon. Seems the EGO engine doesn't like these setups.

This is always a risk with PC gaming (although smaller than it used to be) - I accept that risk with my dual GPU 6990. A 3 GPU setup is even more of a risk.

So Dirt2 was on a different engine ?.

I will download Dirt3 from steam tonight & see if its crashes on my Quad 5970.

not 2.0

its using a improved version of 1.5

An improved version of 1.5, just like 1.5 was an improved version of 1 - it is still called the 2.0 engine.

I really think its the Consolillitis effecting CodeMasters latey & the Same with Crytech & Crysis 2.

Agreed. Just something we have to accept now as PC gamers in order to get any games on the platform. Sadly few are developed specifically for the PC these days.

Sorry to have to correct you but thats not actually true mate

we haven't put out a title yet using EGO 2 and it is currently still in development. DiRT 3 as well as F1 2011 will use updated and modified versions of the EGO engine. This engine is constantly being updated and modified which is why DiRT 3 can contain the weather tech developed for F1 2010 for example.

I'm intrigued where all this EGO 2 stuff started actually.
