Are there any Hardstyle / Hard Trance or any other 'Heavy' electro fans?

whenever people ask questions like this i always think back to that scene in Kevin and Perry go large where they get asked what type of music they like, and try to wing it and pretend they know all about dance music.

I swear to god half the types of dance music are just made up. I've never yet met anybody who can clearly list and define all the different types

Psy trance (and all it's sub-genres) is very different from hardstyle and hardcore which are pretty similar. Hardstyle is a more 'cleanly' produced version of hardcore that is more industrial, for want of a better word, and doesn't have all the cheesy MC crap. Not as fast either.

For a tongue-in-cheek guide to dance music genres though:

Highly recommend in HQ!

Agree with up, Hardstyle can have some MC bits which can be annoying, but after the intro its pretty damn hot! :D

To be quite fair

This link someone posted earlier, has totally blown me away. NEVER knew there is so many genres.

I fall under Trance / Epic trance and Hardcore / Hardstyle / Trancecore.

Jeez. DAT GENRE.

That said, it's in dire need of an update. Psy-trance has now got at least 5 distinct sub-genres, tech-trance has morphed into something different, and dub-step doesn't even exist in the guide. :p

Just seen this thread:D! I love Hardstyle! been all over uk to see some of the artists!

Inside out has just finished up for good over a month ago and had just seen WildStylez for the first time here :D!

D-Block and S-te-Fan set from Qountdown 2008 tends to be one of my favourite sets:D!!

Aw man I wish I could go to some events more often.

I wanted to go to Qlimax 2011 but now tickets are sold out, and I am, frankly, screwed :/

Exactly the new type of hardstyle I can't stand.

I enjoy that.. In the suggestions Qlimax 2003 - DJ Luna, all of the old editions of Qlimax seem far better.

Was thinking of going to Qlimax 2012 since like 07, but considering from the DVD's and listening to the live stream from 09+2010 I doubt I will..

Hardstyle was still pretty fresh in 2003. I like the old style of it aswell, but I prefer Nu-Style that Headhunterz started because of melody that was added to the tunes.

the 2003 Qlimax looks amazing though. Although the crowd seemed pretty dull :P

I dont listen to Angerfist a lot and Hardcore as itself, but that song from 1.00 till 2:40 or so is pretty banging.

Love Hard Electro beats, however I cannot stand Hardstyle or Hardcore, Every song sounds near enough the same and the usual "donk" annoys me.

Overdrivven Electro anyday.

All of my mates hit Germany/holland regularly each year to go to the Q dance events. about 20 of them are hitting Defqon 1! in a few weeks time! I've been all over the UK to events its been brilliant! seen the majority of hardstyle dj's in the last few years as they have all be invited to the arches and events in Scotland.

this is one of my favourite hardstyle tracks :D
