EA to unveil Origin

lol I don't trust EA at all. Terrible customer service, don't give a stuff about their consumers, and kill every IP they get their hands on. Why on earth would I choose them over steam or retail?!

'with EA saying players could rack up experience points on a mobile version of the game that will count towards unlocks on the PC edition.'

Point proven.

+1

If they had any nouse they'd do what Microsoft have done with Fable III. Put a game up on each service and see where it sells the best.

This sounds bad. 60-80% of the time I play an EA game these days, a message pops up that the game can't contact the EA servers. I'd be properly annoyed if that meant that I couldn't download or plays games that I own!

LOL, I don't think EA is alone in that problem. Steam's always telling me "the servers are too busy to handle your request." :D

Steam is the Itunes of PC gaming no-one can ever beat it the lead is already too great. MS could buy it if they wanted but I doubt Gabe would sell he is a smart man so doubt he would want to become a corporate slave.

All these other companies will try as they know the margins on digital PC games are massive probably 60-70% vs 15-20% on retail PC games. That is why they keep trying.

Do the math......

Please don't compare Steam to the bloatware that is the Windows version of iTunes.

Always? Aside from when big name games are released I only recall it happening once and that was with Company of Heroes a few weeks back which might've had something to do with the patch.
