Hi

New on here, so be kind ! :D

I am about to build my first PC and have been waiting for the AMD 900 series chipset MB to arrive. Now starting to see them on pre-order so am looking for thoughts on which make / version to go for.

I am only a beginner at overclocking and not a serious gamer.

Don't need a top end board but want to overclock. Solid, reliable performance is important to me.

Any help welcome. :cool::cool::cool:

Well, I think you're mad for buying a motherboard whose primary selling point is support for a CPU that nobody knows the performance of.

Surely you'd be better with either:

a) Waiting, after all prices will come down, and you'll be in a much better position when you know how BD will perform.
b) Getting a Sandy Bridge motherboard.
c) Getting something with an 800 series chipset if you really want to go AMD.

+1,000,000 wait, bulldozer might be rubbish, so your tied into buying a bad chip becuase you already bought the board. IF bulldozer is good (and we hope it is) then by the time it comes out the stuff will be cheaper anyway - waiting is a win win! :)

I am due my bi-annual mb\cpu\memory upgrade next month and also noticed these boards are on pre-order. But there is no way i will pre-order before knowing if BD is at least as good or better than SB. WAIT.:D

Was planning on waiting. But looking for advice as to which MB maker to go for when I do buy ? The advice would hold good even if I did go down the Sandybridge road.
