This is on TV at the minute and I was just wondering if anyone could confirm something from the original film release of Saving Private Ryan.
I saw it when it first came out, as I'm sure many of you did, and I've never seen this mentioned anywhere so thought I'd put it to OcUK.
Near the beginning as Tom Hank's squad are making their way to find Ryan, they get pinned down by a sniper on the outskirts of a village and Vin Diesel gets shot. Eventually Barry Pepper takes him out and all is well...
NOW... when I saw this in the cinema I'm certain that the German sniper shot Vin Diesel multiple times in multiple places (in the legs etc.) when he was out in the open and the others couldn't get to him - i.e. in a sadistic fashion.
This is something I clearly remember (I was fairly young when I saw it so was a bit shocked) but this scene isn't on the DVD or any version I've ever seen since...
Anyone else remember this or heard anything about why/if it got cut?
