You cant have anything nice in life!

Things like this make me never want to spend big on a car.

A couple of years ago I was walking back from uni and I saw a DB9 which was keyed. :( People who do this are sub-human scum.

I never thought the punishment for vandalism was bad enough, or theft for that matter. We have lots of CCTV but obviously not enough in some places.

someone scratched the roof of my car the other night too, some how I had managed to forget about it until I saw this post :(

looks like they rested something on my roof.....

Stop whining wait till you see my door :D

I've just taken my white scirocco to a garage because it's got some damage on the door and rear panel, as well as needing the moulding strips replacing and was quoted £150 + cost of strips.... he did say he would need to spray both door and panel after he'd repaired the damage.

I went to two places and the quotes were identical, give and take ~£10

Bit worried now that people are quoting £500+ for spraying a panel.

Why have they quoted me so cheap? It's not metallic btw. PS - these are reputable garages, and he had a lot of new cars in for repairs at the time, which reassured me!

£150 is very cheap. I got a quote to have my wing and part of my bumper sprayed/blended and have a small dent removed for £165 and that was from what seemed like a one man band working out of a small shed!! The good places wanted £250+ VAT

Did seem strange, however I did go to 2 different body shops both with similar quotes.

The damage is very very small, main damage is to the strips so i'm guessing it would just be a blend to ensure the paint matched on the bit he is repairing?

May try one more place for re-assurance!

I've had in last 7 months:

Van hit back of wife's car. He drove off I chased on foot and ended up with broken nose. He was let off of hit and run and assault.

My car hit twice while parked.

Wall outside my house hit and bricks damaged.

So 4 (well 5 if u count nose) hit and runs in past 7 months. Hence my search for CCTV bought up this thread :/

Re the Scirocco : It's solid for a start which is normally cheaper than anything metallic/pearlescant. Without seeing the damage it's hard to say whether your quote is stupidly low or not. Obviously filler work requires more prep than if they are just respraying it but it does seem cheap to me.
