Hi guys,

I usually shave once a week, but by day 3 it's starting to look a mess. I can't be bothered shaving every other day, but also my skin is quite sensitive and comes up in a rash if I shave too often. So I'm looking for a beard trimmer to use maybe every other day or so to keep the stubble neat in between wet shaves. Any suggestions? I'm completely new to this so any advice would be appreciated :)

Nice one guys. Checked the Remington MB320C on HotUKDeals and it's been half price recently. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it drops soon :D

I just use the cheap Phillips one they sell in Argos, although looking at that Remington one the price difference is negligible so might opt for that when I replace it in a few months.

I recently bought the BaByliss for Men i-Stubble Trimmer from Argos as it was half price. Has some good reviews and have been impressed when using it.

What razor are you currently using? As it might be a simple matter of buying a decent one. I used to get a rash if I shaved too often but once I stopped using crap multi-blade razors and went to a Merkur, I get an amazingly close shave without any irritation.

Remington

Hi guys, that remington- is it any good for full shaving, or just for trimming? cheers :)

Stick with razor + foam if you want a clean shave, on the lowest setting, the Remington is stubble. Having said that, I do use it to get rid of any stray hairs or tidy up a beard line...

I've got a wahl bella trimmer. It's pricey, but hugely better than most of the ones I tried from high street stores. Blades etc are replaceable too so it'll last years, after all it's what many hairdressers use day in day out.

I can't do a close shave without getting a rash either, so using this every second day does the job.

I started off with a Philishave, found it too easy to accidentally change the length of cut mid-shave! Exactly the same problem with the Remington linked to above despite the mechanism being different (in all other respects it was a superb beard trimmer)

I lost the charger for the Remington recently so bought a Babyliss i-trim Stubble to replace it, and there is almost no chance of accidentally altering the cut depth by mistake and I'm very happy with it.
