ok my sandy bridge system
i7 2600k
4gb gskill ram
nvidia 8600gt .... to be changed
asus p8p67 evo
hafx case 2x 20cm fans + 2x 12cm fans
venomous x with two akasa vipers

Im after a decent quality psu, i overclock my 2600k to 4.4ghz almost 24/7 for encoding purposes, so need to run basically 100% all the time.

im curently looking at the Corsair Professional Series HX750W

This is at my max limit of what i can afford roughly £115 with delivery.

i will be upgrading the gpu to a bigger card come xmas say £200 price range.

is this psu fine, anyting else i should consider better at this price.

i need to order it monday morning as mine went tonight, so dont have days to ponder over lots of specs and reviews:(, as we men like to do :-)

thanks lads

Only was looking at the 750w models, the 850w is a excellent buy! :p

One is modular though :)

So just to be clear, can you name which single one you would go for, and explain why xfx over corsair...please ;)

more power for less?? or are they simply betetr than corsair, im all for more power the betetr, if it doesnt affect performance.

didnt even look at the xfx ones, but ive heard seasonic are very good?

Some of the PSU are re-branded Seasonic PSU.

The XFX offer best price / performance.

I am currently using the PC Power & Cooling PSU in my system, bought before OCZ took them over.

thansk for the reviews, i already got more good info just by reading that review of the corsair, ie the 12v lead and 24 pin being 60cm, just the type of info i needed to measure in my large hafx case.

il takea good look at all the above chaps cheers, nobody putting me off the one i was looking at makes me feel a bit better :-)

HaHA!!!!

im actually just reading that review, now my mind isnt made up, thats a great review.

the colour would compliment my green akasa vipers, and to be honest i dont care one jot about colours or noise, as long as everything works as it should.

i have 1 day to decide, just about to read the review about he xfx pro

and then we shall see, although i like modular as i dont have lots of drives and cards.

thanks again, at least now i know the choice , whatever it is, will be great:D

thank you!!!!

Corsair HX750W is a great choice.

I would choose Corsair over XFX, they have better support and RMA service.

You could also consider the Corsair AX750, more expensive but is 80 Plus Gold certified. (If you look around you can get it on offer.)
