33% off Call of Duty: Black Ops.....Is it worth buying

You got to be kidding me? Theres far worse than BO.

Is it cool to hate COD now or something?

Yeah it is apparently especially for hipsters and PC elitists.

I like it even though it's produced by a money grabbing company but I don't mind it's fun. I purchased BLOPS and all of the expansion packs yesterday and I have not regretted it even though I already have it for Xbox. There is no COD kiddies! :p

If you look there is a pack called Warchest which Has COD1, 2 and UO for 19.99.

I know I have it :D, but all the games from that pack are still 14.99 on their own which is a bit silly. WaW is still 24.99 too.

Back on topic, I quite enjoyed ****ing around on multiplayer splitscreen BO on my housemates 360 but even he has gone back to MW2 now. He also says that the SP campaign is a big pile of poopoo but I can't comment as I haven't played any of that.

Don't go by what other people have said. Form your own opinion. As said, it's a free weekend so just download it and have a go.

A lot of people think it's cool to bash Call of Duty so they'll put out bad reviews changing the minds of people like yourselves who are thinking of having a go but then decide not to.

And they call the people who play it childish ;)

I think the vast majority of people who criticise CoD do it because they don't like what its become, not because it's 'cool' to do it.

It's the worst game I've ever played, too - mainly because of what it represents to me and my experiences playing it. I don't hate it because it's cool to hate it; in fact I'm pretty gutted that I don't like it because I've been a hardcore CoD fan since the demo was released for the first game!

Its not worth it in my opinion unless you have never played MW1/2 and feel like a dumb shooter. Not worth full price at all, and I would personally refuse to buy the map packs on principle.

He's right. The SP was a let down; certainly the weaker SP campaigns compared to the previous instalments. I'd give it 6/10 for the SP. The COD games never go down by much, because there is still a demand for it. People are still playing WaW and MW1.

I liked the SP of this game, but found the MP more of the same to MW1+2, only not done as well, infact it was done worse...

You may as well download it and try it for free though and see what you think. If you like it, take advantage of the offer.

Never, Modern Warfare is still £19.99 :p

I've got black ops on the xbox, I wish i'd of got it on the PC instead.

Call of Duty 4 is actually worth its price, MW2 and BLOPS aren't IMO.

I'd grab them for a fiver each, though, they aren't bad games but are major disappointments as part of the series.

Here's hoping MW3 will change things around but I highly doubt it after the last three games.

I wish Infinity Ward started to develop these games with PCs in mind (like Modern Warfare was), then we would probably get an excellent multiplayer game again. It's fun to play COD games on consoles but I couldn't go back to console gaming at all, anyhow, as it's too casual for me.

i bought (hehee) it earlier, but think about it, steam are charging £25 for world at war and it's £8 pre-owned and £15 new... steam is a rip off but when they offer deals they can be pretty sweet, saying that the only game i ever brought from steam that wasnt on sale was crysis 2 which i pre-ordered mainly to see how good it looked over crysis :D

I agree about Steam: it's silly money for full price games, but the sales can be bargain-tastic.

It's a steamworks game isn't it so it'll probably be better to pick it up somewhere like Amazon and activate it on your account.

Edit: Yes it is, and it's only £20 on Amazon.

Care to explain how this works? I've read the Steam FAQ but it mentions nothing of disc checking.

Specifically, can I buy COD from Amazon, activate my account then store the disc in my attic and play on Steam?

Been away from PC gaming for about 3 years, so it's all new to me :o

Sorry but I have to point this out. It's bought. Brought is to bring something, bought is to buy something.
