We can never allow ourselves to forget. It is important that we remember, and to teach those who don't know.

Thanks for posting this up as a reminder for those who might have forgotten and to show those who wouldn't otherwise know. I'm a little bit surprised that Google didn't think this was worth commemorating - they put up notifications for things that are far less noteworthy.

I know it's from WWI but I think Laurence Binyon's For The Fallen is a powerful reminder of the sacrifice these men have made.

Perhaps because the 67th year isn't a 'big one'? Just a guess. 75th will be a proper 'celebration', probably.

Yes its pretty schocking, that and the fact that i never seen anything in the newspaper or anything at all on the bbc news channel this morning.******* disgusting if you ask me.

Maggy thatcher was more man than women so she wouldnt count.

My grandpa was a minesweeper, he wouldnt really talk about his experiences which was a shame.

Never seen a fight outside a pub / club where women weren't involved.
