To buy a playstation 3 or not too..

So I'm getting close to buying a PS3, but part of me still thinks they're too expensive.

I can think of 4 games I'll go and buy straight away if I do get it, Demon Souls to play with my friend, PES, Tekken and God of War (was told to rent this but its £14 atm). I don't watch bluray movies, so don't really need it for that..

I guess what I'm trying to say is someone convince me £250 is good money spent :p.
 
PS3's are great, you can do so much more than just play games on them. Well worth the money especially if you are going to use it to stream media from your pc and/or watch blu rays and dvds. it has bbc iplayer, itv player and 4 on demand as well as other things too.
 
Great games and exclusives. The Blu-ray side is worth a look it eventually and it makes a great media center.

Just don't put your card details on it :p
 
I have two PS3's at home and think they are fantastic. I bought a NAS and have all my movies, music and pics stored in them and use the PS3 as a media center and its fantastic.

Coupled with the games and blu-ray for me its a must have!

Already have a system in place to stream to my TV from my server as my TV is LAN enabled. Other then that...yeah, seems I should take the plunge :p.
 
i say go for it i think you can pick them up for closer to 200 quid now. the only thing tempting me to xbox atm is the kinnect, but i have a feeling if i buy that then i will just get board after a month and hardly play on it, just like my wii.

Aye you can get them for £200 now, not quite sure why they're still £240 on OcUK.

Uncharted 1 & 2
Yakuza 3 & 4
Gran Turismo 5

Heavy Rain
Killzone 2 & 3

Then you've got your multiplatform games like Fallout, Mass Effect, GTA, CoD, FIFA etc.

Playstation 3 is well worth the money, the online play is free (no jokes :p), you get 4OD, BBC iPlayer and ITV Player built into the console as well as LoveFilm, it plays original Playstation games, Blu-Rays and also does a great job of upscaling DVD's, the slim model is very quiet, the controllers come with a built in battery and a charging cable which is a big plus imo. All in all it's well worth the outlay but as you said yourself don't pay £250 for the 160GB model... :p

There's some on there that I wouldn't have played based on name, mainly because I'd never heard of them but every one of those games there is worth AT LEAST a rent. Honest. :)
 
Uhm actually there was a great game I played at my friends house....is it Unchartered 2? Where you play an Indiana Jones type?

That'll keep you occupied for a long time.
 
And there are some little gems on the PlayStation Network too, like Super Stardust HD, PixelJunk Monsters, Flower.
