I'm only 24 and fairly slender built, but I've got a beer belly that makes me look like the grinch.

I've got a week-long cycle ride in just over a month so I'd like to start shedding a few pounds. However, how do I specifically target the belly? I'm 5ft 8", weight 11st and like I said the majority of me is fairly skinny, so I fear a diet would just waste me away. Plus I can't really diet else I'll die on the cycle tour.

Obviously I'll cut out alcohol - that goes without saying - but what foods should I be eating or what exercise can I do that primarily targets my bulbous frontage?

You can't target fat loss unfortunately mate, it's just a case of creating a calorie deficit through diet/exercise and it will eventually go

What's the best way of doing that whilst eating enough carbs etc in the preceding weeks to my ride? I leave on 29 June and I'll be doing ~100km a day for 6 days (1 day break in middle).

Start your diet after your ride or at least make some changes now, ie give up booze and crap food, small changes now reep big rewards later.
