Lifes Little Mysteries?

They do, its just your perception that changes with whats acceptable.

I disagree.

You load a for instane a 100K MS Word file on a PIII 1Ghz CPU with 512Mb of RAM running Windows 98SE with Word 97

Then you load the Same 100K MS Word file on a P4 3Ghz CPU with 1Gb of RAM running Windows XP with Word 2003

Then you load the same 100K MS Word file on a Intel i5 2nd Gen CPU with 3Gb of RAM running Windows 7 with Word 2010

The loading speed is almost the same or within half a second of each other, due to the fact that with newer software eg O/S & Word versions require more powerful PC's the actual process of loading the 100K file is the same ish no matter what spec your PC is.

Why does glue never stick to the inside of the bottle it comes in?-

Glues contain solvents that allow them to retain their fluidity. When you use the glue, this solvent begins to evaporate, allowing the properties of glue to activate. When the glue is in a bottle, there is a space inside the bottle above the liquid that is full of air. So, inside the bottle, there is limited space for the solvent to fill, and once the space is filled, the solvent can't evaporate- as there's nowhere for it to go. :p

why are there different languages instead of a universal one?

There is a universal language, it just never really took off. It's called esperanto.

I think it boasts over 1m speakers, last I read anyway ;p

According to wikipedia 33.9% of countries drive on the left-hand side, so its not as quite 1 sided as most people think.

No way is loading speed half a second of each other. First you have the SuperFetch thingy on Windows 7 so if it’s a file you load often it caches the files and loads much faster. 2nd you have SSD’s which load much faster so the PC spec does matter. Lastly after testing even without the above I seems a 100k MS word file loads much faster on 2nd Gen CPU with 3Gb of RAM running Windows 7 with Word 2010 then older systems and not just by a few seconds.

Why does nobody ever see a baby pigeon?

Well funny enough I have had an eventful few days with a baby wood pigeon. :)
Here he is/or she, :)

and a link to the whole story and help I received on the Wild About Britain website.
Found the little fella in my garden after being mawled by the local cats.

Who invented the 1st clock? And how did they know what time to set it to?

I like that I never even thought of that ;)

Here is one though it can probably be explained by some science boffin :P... the world takes its time from Greenwich, but where do they get their time from?

Stoner81.

PS - Thanks to whoever it was who gave the answer about the glue I could never work that out. This has been quite an entertaining thread so far :D
