Hi Guys

I Was looking at a different motherboard before, almost twice as expensive, however i've seen this board and would like to know if its good enough for what i want to achieve.

My Spec Is:

Q660 @ 2.4 Ghz
2GB DDR2 RAM
Sapphire HD 1GB 5850
530W Be Quiet PSU
****ty Foxconn Motherboard (ATM)

so, i want to get the CPU overclocked to 3.0 ghz or maybe even more for gaming reasons while it running stable etc, this board is fairly cheap so im quite weary, however the reviews look good so will this board give me a good Overclock or not?

Regards

Not sure as I don't have that board, but my only question would be: Is it worth getting a new mobo still on a 775 socket. With DDR 3 being so cheap, you'd be better looking at a sandybridge mobo and saving up for a new CPU too.

why?

q660 are still bang on CPU's, dont want a new CPU, most games dont even optimize 4 cores properly yet.

i just want opinions on this board, and was wondering is the G41 better for Q660 overclocking or the G31

Personally, If your adamant on sticking to the Q6600 then I'd get a cheap second hand P45, such as an Asus P5Q from the MM. Put a wanted out. I bought one for £25 replacing my old P5KC which I hit a ceiling on. Great board :)

which Asus P5Q? the deluxe, the P5QPL?? i'd prefer the cheaper one but one that will get me the good overclock too.

Hi, I have done several builds with that board and the other giga G41's with just ddr3, you will have no problems at all getting 3ghz as it is 333 fsb to hit that with the 9 multiplier on the Q6600. Anything past 333 and you will struggle on g41 in my experience.

The board is not really designed for clocking, as others have already said it would make much more sense to go P45 if you can find one at a reasonable price ....

Having said that the board is solid and a reasonable buy for what you want

I got the G31 for my old computer that I use for rendering after my P5N72 T Premium failed twice after about 6 months.

Anyway, had the G31 for awhile now, not had any problems and the E8500 is running at 3.7ghz

I have this MB

My E3300 was running at 4Ghz but my voltage was in the 1.5's so i run it at 3.5Ghz with stock volts atm.

I also have ASUS HD5850, 2GB DDR2, 550w PSU.

Runs great
