To buy a playstation 3 or not too..

Right, you've talked me into it. Where's my card..

Hold on for a day or so, at least till after the Sony press event tonight, I would say the same for the 360 TBH. Could be a price drop coming soon, you've waited this long a few days or so wont be an issue.

Russ I have one and I picked one up for Wils last weekend at 176£ with staff discount. Its good for online stuff like cod or gt5.

Tekken tends to suvmck online. Games like uncharted left me underwhelmed.

I find myself only using my PS for cod, gt5, fifa, and local tekken vs Craig. Mgs4 is worth a shout though.

Valkyrie Chronicles
I got one because there's less overlap between a gaming PC and a PS3 than with an Xbox. It's a handy media centre also.

Man up and just buy one :p

Then buy uncharted + uncharted 2 and spent the next few days with the follow face >

Well I have just got myself a PS3 to go alongside my long-serving 360 and I must say that so far I'm impressed.
It is a bit weird going back to the PS controller config after the 360's but you do get used to it and so far I've been blown away by Heavy rain, and I'm very much enjoying the first Uncharted.

This is not supposed to be a fanboi bait post as I'm simply giving my impressions of adding a PS3 to an existing 360.

Overall impressions so far:
Pros - Much quieter than the 360 and seems to be a bit cooler
More capable media player, the added bonus of a web browser and free online play.
Blu-ray player is good and loads blu-rays far faster than my stand-alone
Some great exclusive titles
Managed to get two free games due to an 18month old psp psn account which entitled me to the ps3 games as well! ;)

Cons - UI is less intuitive than the 360, on several occasions I found myself googling how to do something as it wasn't obvious (checking remaining hard drive space, and removing a previous gamer's profile for example)
Personally I've found the controller a bit less comfortable than the 360 - my hands ached after a few hours play.
360 is a little easier to connect up to the PC.
Apparently there was a little security issue recently ;)

I must say it's great to own both if you can do it - each console has some great exclusives and their own strengths; I wish I'd picked up a PS3 earlier!

I actually prefer the PS3 UI. It has a better quality finish to it, feels stylish and part of a decent setup, rather than the childish feeling\looking UI's that the other 2 have.

UI is less intuitive? The 360 UI is a mess. Anyone having trouble navigating the xmb is something I really cannot imagine.

The Sony interface is, from my experience, pretty dire to use, especially the browser, but then that seems to be a general Sony problem. Any way, I am going to buy a PS3 :).

The PS3 is a great console. I bought mine after my 360 died at xmas.

Oh and to save hackers time, just post your credit card details in this thread ;)

Lol, 2596 4582 '#'][ []'#' ;)

I got a PS3 at xmas (phone contract freebie), mostly used it for blurays and the odd game. I would only get a 360 as my mates have them and I am forever alone with online gaming on my PS3.

If you want to play the best games i'd definitely go for it. The XBox catalogue is appalling and is multi platform so you might as well get them on the PC.

I have a Wii (never gets used), PS3 and Gaming PC. There's so much crossover between PC and Xbox that I felt the PS3 would be a better fit. There's some xbox/pc games (Bioware I am looking at you) that I have on the PC but can't be played with an Xbox pad which I find annoying as these days I prefer to game on the sofa in front of the TV as the laptop is more than capable of doing 720p at good framerates.

The PS3 is a good console. The games are of a poorer resolution generally (black Ops for example) compared to the xbox, but that's not a massive biggy.

There are no credit cards that start with a "2", so you're lying! :p
