I loved FC2, what I didn't love was the way Ubisoft abandoned it at the first possible opportunity, with some mod tools and a couple more patches, the game could be brilliant, rather than the broken shell we have instead.

From reading the extract above it could be excellent. I loved how Far Cry2 looked and the general idea behind it and it seems in the extract above they've picked up on all the annoying aspects so I'll look forward to this one

Decided after BF3 was PC'ed not to buy any more. Lots of games out there, that are not ported.

If the port is well done, who cares if its a port? Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Not so sure, Far Cry 2 - the whole exploring, finding missions thing was quite fun, but after a while it became SO repetitive... 'map 2' is pretty much identical to 'map 1' in terms of missions and stuff.

Bit reluctant to buy this after selling far cry 2 after 15 minutes playing. Hopefully theres a demo.

Agree completely. FarCry 3 actually looks like a pretty good game. But, then, FarCry 2 is absolute drivel, so I guess it shouldn't be too difficult to better it. Hopefully FC3 turns out to be as good as that trailer looked, which seemed a lot closer to the original FarCry than FC2 ever was.

Farcry 2 looked great and the idea sounded great. The problems appeared when you played the game. Just too repetitive

The gameplay looked weird that it had +15 every time you killed someone. Definitely looks promising though. A good lineup seems to be coming together!

I hope this turns out well. I really enjoyed FC2, I thought it was a pure shooter that didn't hand hold you like a lot of modern games, it just dumped you in a hostile environment and let you get on with it, never understood all the hate for the game.
