My point is that there's nothing 'special' about WWII.

There is a Lot special about WWII, There are people alive who lived through it & there are also people like me who grew up on stories there Grandad told them.
Maybe in 50 or a 100 years it may become less important but at the mo it is Very important to a lot of people.

Exactly - that's my point about the "never forget" baggage, I expect we will (and should) forget in time, as we have with other conflicts.
