Offered a Mazda 6 MPS, should I take it?

That isn't what I said, is it? I suggested that the ST220 was a poor comparison to quantify the statement that the Mazda 6 is "very very fast".

Ok I'll retract my statement and change it to the following...

"The Mazda 6 MPS is very very fast, in comparison to a donkey with 3 legs, a bullet wound and asthma...running uphill."

I looked at the 3 MPS and got a focus ST in the end, but I remember the 3 is in a very high tax band, and the 6 has the same engine

Just saw another MPS which was in great condition if not for some rust in the engine bay.

I stupidly didn't get a photo, but it was around the front suspension bolts, pretty much everything within the red circles in this photo was covered with rust:

I haven't seen this on any other MPS or normal 6s, should I be worried? I've emailed the guy about it, but obviously want to get another opinion.

Both mine rusted here, it's a bolt on plate rather than structural, it must flex as the paint cracks then flakes off, I'd imagine it's an easy and cheap replacement, not picked up on any MOT either :)

Surely that's covered and free to get done and only concerns cars built in that 2 week period?

Yes it is, but it's a ballache at around 3 to 4 days work apparently.

Not familiar with the Mazda models, just remember reading about the recall.

Then I'd just get it booked in for a few weeks time when I can get a courtesy car. Can't see it being a reason to not buy a car personally.
