Personally I like him, nothing else (on TV) at the moment gets me weeping with laughter more regularly. Not seen him live but I loved him on Mock the Week and Buzzcocks.
I'm not a fan of one-liner stand-ups (except Tim Vine, who has taken it to the extreme!). Jimmy Carr does something similar, and both he and Boyle are far funnier when put in the mix with other people and coming up with stuff on the spot. Granted, some of the stuff they use is directly swiped from their own routines, but in amongst other comedians they come across far better.
I liken it to when TV shows do episodes or spin-offs centred around a single character. They may have taken the funniest character on the show but without the dynamic of the other characters the humour becomes stunted and has nowhere to go.
He used to be funny, it's gone to his head though. He's now just as offensive as he can be, with no thought to it. He should go back to how he used to be, before the fame.
One of my favourite comedians. My mother who was terminally ill with cancer found his cancer jokes hilarious on his "Frankie Boyle Live 2: If I Could Reach Out Through Your TV and Strangle You I Would" dvd.
even if a lot of it is truth bending it had me laughing out loud from start to finish. somehow manages to time/deliver everything perfectly even in writing. genius
Don't find him offensive because to be honest I don't really care, but I don't find him funny at all. Demoniser and Tummy's comments sum up what I think of him.
He is first class, we couldn't stop laughing all the way through, his humour is of course right on the bone and a lot of people that go are expecting something like mock the week when it is far far more outrageous but it was spot on for me.
