That sounds a bit soppy. It seems the knee jerk reaction was "she has a boyfriend so don't bother". Unfortunately in the real world, new relationships cross over with old ones and girls change their minds all the time.

Although I agree flowers are not the way to go...

She is with someone. If she is not interested she will dump him and move on or will make it blatantly obvious otherwise.

While either of those criteria are false leave her alone. The only thing you will achieve by sending her flowers showing you "care" is putting her in an awkward position. You might not care if it makes her boyfriend envious/jealous/angry but she will as it will be her who gets a bad time out of it.

If you are selfish enough to think that is a good idea to better your own chances then you need to ask yourself just how much you actually "care". Hint - Not much.

I took this as an assumption that gambitt is suggesting the OP should not give up, keep trying and get the girl. He hasn't elaborated.

People are saying give up, don't be weird and move on...so the "alpha" thing to do would be to "not be a mug" and keep trying.
