Can someone explain to me what exactly PhysX does/is anyway....other than keep installing on my PC even though I have an AMD card.
Thank god you own nvidia cards or your opinion would have been invalidated.um yeah, I have all nvidia cards and still do not care![]()
Thats absurd. Is that even allowed? "You have to buy this brand or loads of your games will run like rubbish/not to their best".
Nvidia spend up to $50m per year working closely with developers in the TWIMTBP program to ensure the latest PC games run well & sometimes include extra features on Nvidia gfx cards which is why Nvidia is the best choice for the PC gamer regardless of budgetThats absurd. In recent years Batman Arkham Asylum & Just Cause 2 make good use of Nvidia PhysX & Cuda technologies but HAWX2 + Lost Planet2 also look amazing in DX11 with Nvidia gfx cards.
The ones that have physx but no h/w acceleration will run fine trusting the cpu is up to scratch. I.e bulletstorm or nfs:shift.
I think I'm yet to play a game that actually used PhysX. I was somewhat disappointed to find out Bad Company 2 didn't as that's about the only game I play these days.
Although physics (in the physx sense) in games usually means exploding and ragdolling of geometry, it can also be used for more subtle things like flowing of hair and clothing (or curtains, ship sails, flags, etc.) too.
The effect is usually subtle enough not to be a deal-breaker IMO, but the extra candy is nice if you've got it.
