Hi,

I was wondering if anyone was able to tell me what is this blue tacky heat pad stuff...
I know what it is for and how it works, but I would like to see some tech details like heat capacity, heat transmission rate and efficiency etc.

Ive got some stuff which could replace it and possible could be more effective but I don't want to take it off unless there is no point...

Umm what Blue tacky heat pad stuff exactly?

I do know pads/tape isn't nearly as good as proper thermal compound, adhesive or otherwise.

grrr... can't find the stupid picture I found yesterday :/

well, what I mean is the pieces of thermo conductive rubber-like material, usually blue or grey which they put between metal components to get better heat transfer... usually fitted between power section and rads on them etc.

Edit:
found it!

There are hundreds / thousands of different types, all with different thermal properties, different thicknesses, and different uses. Without knowing the actual brand / maker / part number of the pads, it really is impossible to say by looking.

These specific ones are from Z68 Extreme4...
Any chance to find out what the best stuff is?
I could then compare to the stuff Ive got..

All I can say is don't buy the akasa stuff. I spent about an hour carefully cutting and sticking my ramsinks to my graphics card. Turned it over and they all fell off, everything was thoroughly cleaned beforehand also.
