Today I was on the internet on my laptop and playing some games, then I got a blue screen of death and since then my LCD screen doesnt work at all. Ive read around and mostly when then happens to poeple they lose all power to there laptop. However I still have laptop and when my laptop boots up the touch buttons light up like always just my LCD will stay completely blank.

Im gonna try it soon on a second monitor/TV and ill let you guys now how it goes but for now just wanted to know if something similar has happened to anyone on this forum.

The power is okay and even gives power to my phone via usb. I can also hear the HDD and the fan is still spinning so thinking it might be the lcd.

anyways thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, wouldnt work on my TV. From my reasearch I have to open my laptop up remove the fan and heat sink then blow dry the gpu for 45 seconds and this should hopefully fix the problem.

I take it its not still in warranty?

I would double check the method? Could work wonder if its like oven fix for some GPUs/Xbox, but dont wreck the laptop :p

Laptop is back and running know. Fix seems to work, also cleaned out most of the dust inside the laptop.

Planning to clean the heatsink and re apply some paste sometime soon as it was half gone.

That's what is known as reflowing. It's a reball you need to do.

With the first option, it will eventually just go back to the way it was unfortunately.

P.S. Why don't you pop over to the thread with the guy asking for advice on which laptop to get and tell him how crap they are :p
