ok, thinking about making the change to a 2500k, so looking at motherboards.
i need it to house my 2xHD6850s, 4xSATA HDDs, 1xSATA DVDRW and 4x4GB DDR3 RAM.
the ones i have been looking at are :
ASRock -
P67 EXTREME4
Z68 EXTREME 4
P67 EXTREME6

Gigabyte -
GA-P67A-D3-B3
GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3
GA-Z68X-UD4-B3

Biostar -
TP67XE VER. 5.1

im not sure if all of them will cover my needs, and i dont really know what the difference between the P67 and Z68 boards are, so any input welcome.

The main difference between P67 and Z68 is ssd caching, there are other some other changes as well like Quick sync, have a look here to get the rundown http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2011/05/13/what-is-the-intel-z68-chipset/1

As regards to what motherboard to use, the Asrock boards look real good value for money, though not sure on performance, the GB boards are really nice as well, though if Xfiring you might want to take the D3 off the list as it only supports x4 mode when in Xfire, I think the Z68 ud3p supports upto 8x when in Xfire.

The Asrock boards also support upto 8x when in Xfire mode too, As does the Biostar.

Hope this helps!

i have an ASRock mobo at the moment, and for the price it offered a lot of features the more expensive gigabytes didnt. the build quality was also very good, although i had an issue with the driver cd not working, but the internet quickly solved that :)
im leaning more towards ASRock, and from stulids post the Z68 EXTREME 4 seems to be a very nice board. but i could also just get a phenom X6 and wait it out for ivy bridge or bulldozer (unless IB will use the 1155 sockets)
