I think vauxhalls are fine for what they are. They make a decent second hand purchase for someone who isn't really a car enthusiast. They are cheap and reliable and do the job. If you're a proper car enthusiast then buy something else. Simple!

Seeing as though i've been left at the side of the road on more than one occasion by more than one Vauxhall, then yes, I loath them. I like French cars, I just wouldnt own one.

Sounds like you have a habit of buying bangers rather than it being a fault with Vauxhalls in general

I'm not exactly known for my Vauxhall sympathising but one of the few things I dont have a particular opinion on is reliability, I doubt they are really noticeably more or less reliable than anything else at this pricepoint bar Japanese cars.

When I said tyres and hoses I was referring to serviceable items but as usual if you don't specify everything someone picks fault
ahh, to be fair to fox and everybody else(myself include) i think we all expected your astra to be a car that's been driven more than once a month
