Anyone got a picture frame TV wall mount?

I'm considering one of these because I want my TV as close to the chimney breast as possible, but I'm concerned about the fact that the HDMI and power cables will be sticking out far enough to top the TV sitting flat on the wall.

The power cable is already right angled but still sticks out about an inch from the back of the TV and I'm wondering if this will mean that the TV hangs at a dodgy angle because the power cable is on one side.

Has anyone got experience with this type of mount?

Thanks,

G

Unless your prepared to dig into the plaster to make some room for the cables I wouldnt bother. The picture frame mount only pushes the tv out by about 14mm. We are having one of these in our dining room and have rooted all the cables before we plaster board.

I have 2 of them, the Samsung ultra slim kit for both 46" (2 discs on wall) and 37" (1 disc on wall).

I am using them with SAMSUNG LED panels and with the Wifi dongle on the back, ethernet, HDMI and power cables attached, they were hanging flat. All my connections are on the side though, so nothing really protrudes rearwards.
Initially I had the plastic cable guide on my 46" but this caused the bottom of the frame to angle up, so I took it off.

These kits come with spacers ("for SCART connections") so you can increase the clearance or be able to pivot it up for access if needed. I believe that can give you around 25mm gap.

But I think the best best is to measure how far your power cable is sticking out and then measure the spacers in the kit you are interested in.

TV above a fireplace is a bit high don't you think, craning your neck to watch TV all the time will hurt!

I thought that too, but we have to put it there to get it out of reach of the kids because they keep slamming toys on the screen and it's bound to get broken if we don't move it. Also I want it central in the room so that I can set up the surround sound around it. It's in the corner at the moment on a TV cabinet, I could mount it on the wall in the corner at a more reasonable height, but the surround sound will be pants there I'd imagine.

I mounted one above the fireplace at my friends but it had a tilt on it, so you could angle it down toward you when watching, but I guess that defeats the object of the nearly flush mount you are trying to achieve!

The problem is having to look up at the screen....

The same way as you wouldn't want to buy a TV stand that placed a TV 6 feet high
Or have your PC monitor mounted 3 feet above your desk :D
