So she didnt see my car!?

Thanks for that Robbie. Thanks, lol.

She will be paying direct to Ford. Might get her to pay before the car goes in.

Oh my,
Car went into ford on Monday, i got a call yesterday to tell me that my car should be ready for collection today, this morning at 8:32 i got a call from Polar ford, i missed it and left a Voice Mail, called back, They cant match the color, he told me the bumper has been off and that when put to the car looks miles apart, they have apparently "Exhausted all options".

The guy on the phone said they are waiting for the Paint REP to come to site but they dont know when it will be.

"P" Take or what!

you need to take that some place where they know how to paint a car mate

LOL, even Halfrauds can paint match. I'd get the car back, tell them you're not paying for their lack of experience and get it requoted at a proper bodyshop.

How many people warned him on here that Electric Orange was notoriously hard to match because its pearlescent.

Halfords can't match electric orange any better than ford can. This thread was full of warnings about this which is why we said to go to Ford.

Had his mate done this for £120 on the cheap he'd be stuffed now. At least he's got some hope of getting it sorted because full price was paid at a ford dealer.

How is this a **** take... they have involved the paint companies representative and are keeping the car until it is right.

No ****ing pleasing some people!

and that's fords fault how ?

They've done their best. I'm sure i read on here that Ford stopped painting new cars the pearlescent electric orange because it was impossible to match. Think they switched to a metallic one with a different paint code.

I wasn't saying its Fords fault, but he does have a right to be angry / upset.

Because his car has been damaged through no fault of his own and its not a simple fix.

We all know that.. however he appears to be ranting at ford for not being able to match a colour that is almost impossible to match..
At least they are doing the right thing by taking things higher rather than giving the car back and saying "That's the closest you'll get it mate"

Can't be bothered to read the whole thread, but Polar Ford want to "Detail in" the new paint. I'd love to see the outcome of that.

Oh, and regarding insurance, taking your car to a client site or to a meeting away from the office does not constiture a permanent place of business. Therefore SD&P/Commuting, is not the right policy to have.

How often that ever gets flagged, though, is anyone's guess.

The paint is a pain to match but the Ford i used had to respray the boot, rear bumper, all the right hand side and the back left and they got the match perfect. They took 8 weeks and had to bring in a paint specialist from Ford but they got it in the end.

well said!
i would go to your mate rather than letting ford continue to charge ridiculous prices

You clearly have no idea.

How many warnings have there been above about paint matching on EO? I used to own a ST and was part of the community, I owned one of the first in the country.

Trust me, paint matching EO is a nightmare, an absolute nightmare. If he had gone with his mate, there's no guarentee that his work would be any better than Fords work. Ford are going out of their way to bring in a rep to get the work done.

It's not his money he's spending any ways, so I don't see the problem!
