Hi King Damager, welcome
Here's my DFGT settings. I don't think my logitech profiler global device settings affect ingame as I only set it up to be used in F1 2010. NFS Shift has it's own wheel settings as my screenshots show.
Ignore the drift settings. Also, I use no deadzone settings, all on zero.

You'll get used to braking with practise although it's always a challenge to get braking points and braking pressure consistent. Look out for markers, basically anything you can use like 200, 100 or 50 metre signs, boxes, bridges, shadows, etc to remember where you're best braking point is.
You'll need to add 2 things, the juls mod and the ultimate savegame.
The 'juls mod' since we're all using it. It improves the handling of the cars and reduces laptimes by a good second or more. Without it you won't be able to be as competitive. Unzip the juls mod, put the dinput8.dll in your NFS Shift 2 root folder, (same folder where your shift2u.exe resides) and place PHYSICSBOOTFLOW.bff and PHYSICSPERSISTENT.bff in the 'PakFiles' folder, also residing in the root folder. They'll overwrite the original .bff files. Choose a pair of .bff files from either Average AI or strong AI. I use strong AI. I believe it's the .bff files which help laptimes. Maybe backup your original .bff files if you want.
>>JULS MOD HERE<<
'Ultimate savegame' This gives you millions of dollars so you can buy any cars. This saves us having to go through career mode and earn the money since we only want to do time trials. Back up your original save file if you have one (in case you still want to play through the career mode and build up your money), then unzip the ultimate savegame and place it in: C:\Users\yourname\Documents\SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED\profiles where it will overwrite your savegame.
>>ULTIMATE SAVE LEVEL HERE <<
Hope this helps!
